Hello, hello! I guess if you’ve been following me for a while now, you’d know how much I like to challenge myself and to do that, I tried out vlogging. I was honestly a bit hesitant to do so because I tend to clam up in front of the camera. Writing is one thing because I can collect my thoughts and edit it out as I go along. However, making a video of yourself talking to a camera.. is way harder than I thought it would be. I went and asked a few people who know me in real life what they thought of this, and the feedback was they could completely feel me cringing within myself. Haha!
To be completely honest, I am painfully shy. My mom tried to resolve that when I was younger by making me join pageants, oral competitions.. basically anything that involved having to speak in front of people. I feel anxiety over having to participate in meetings (even at work), but over the years, I have learned to master the confident mask very well (tip: I just go “oh fuck it, let’s get this over with”). I even warm up for job interviews by forcing myself to chat someone up either in the waiting area or in the lobby. It used to baffle C to see me quickly create rapport with other people, but once he holds my hands, it would be cold and clammy. Haha!
See what I said about being chatty on paper (or while writing)? 😛
Let me know what you think about my vlogging skills. Should I stop this or should I keep going? If it’s the latter, any ideas for what to vlog next?
